Do you know Esphyr Slobodkina’s Caps for Sale, the lovely children’s book about a hat salesman who wears his wares atop his head and sleeps under a tree rife with larcenous monkeys? Then perhaps you could imagine a modern redux starring Justin Bieber, whose version would feature the pop star with a tall stack of his go-to headgear—a fuzzy red Kangol hat, a Los Angeles Angels fitted, a silky head scarf, an oversized beanie, and a Balenciaga ball cap, for example—balanced atop his head. And maybe he would be, like, napping beneath a coconut tree at Palm Heights or something.

Now, Bieber’s got a new cap to add to his stockpile: a camouflage-printed bucket hat (sometimes known as a “boonie”) that he wore to a pre-season friendly match between Arsenal and Manchester United at Los Angeles’s SoFi Stadium over the weekend. He paired the tactical cap with a white ribbed tank and printed gray sweatpants, and accessorized with a glittering duo of mushroom-shaped necklaces designed by the celebrity jeweler Alex Moss, which were a gift from his wife Hailey Bieber for the couple’s fifth wedding anniversary last year.

On Sunday, the Biebers—who are currently awaiting the birth of their first child—shared a sweet video from their recent baby shower. For the occasion, Hailey wore a sheer yellow gown from Jacquemus and her go-to diamond-encrusted “B” pendant necklace, also designed by Moss. Justin, meanwhile, was in baggy jeans, fuzzy slippers, and—you guessed it—another hat. This time, it was a Brat-green beanie, which, for a baby shower, feels like a pointedly gender-neutral choice.
