Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney are two of the most in-demand actors today, but until now, they’ve never shared the screen. That changes on June 13, when they play mother and daughter in Apple Original Films’ upcoming thriller, Echo Valley, which will stream on Apple TV+.
Fresh off her turn as the captivating and enigmatic Michaela “KiKi” Kell in Netflix’s Sirens, Moore plays a mother named Kate who is struggling to make peace with her troubled daughter Claire, played by Sweeney. However, their relationship takes an unexpected turn when Claire shows up on Kate’s doorstep, hysterical and covered in someone else’s blood. Kate will go to any lengths possible to clear her daughter’s name and protect her from outside threats, which are more dangerous than she could have ever imagined.
But in this exclusive clip with Moore and Sweeney, it’s obvious that Claire needs more assistance than Kate can possibly provide (and it has nothing to do with money). The fallout is devastating, and Moore and Sweeney’s performances are absolutely heartbreaking. Take a look:
You can watch the full movie on Apple TV+ on Friday, June 13. Echo Valley comes from BAFTA-winning director Michael Pearce and Emmy-nominated writer Brad Ingelsby. It also stars Fiona Shaw, Kyle MacLachlan, and Domhnall Gleeson.
