Here’s a summary of the upcoming feature’s plot, per IMDb: “Jackie, President and CEO of Air Cruz, runs a tight ship in her business, including a rigid antifraternization policy for all her employees. When a new sexy lawyer begins working for her, that policy becomes very tested.” Very tested!
There’s good reason to believe this movie, and Lopez’s character in particular, will be well-written. In addition to starring as the hunky attorney, Brett Goldstein is a cowriter of the film, along with Joe Kelly; these men were two of the main minds behind Ted Lasso, which featured a HBIC character for the ages in Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham). If Jackie is rendered with anything near the same depth and nuance as Rebecca, we’re tuning in the moment the movie lands on Netflix.
Just days before these set photos were taken, Jennifer Lopez rocked a different white coat to the black-tie premiere of Good Night and Good Luck on Broadway. In her white coats era? Is this a trend we need to keep track of? Personally I eat way too much pasta to reliably keep such a garment unstained, but more power to those who can manage it.
