You know it’s serious when you’ve activated Jennifer Aniston, which J.D. Vance has now managed to do with that resurfaced “childless cat ladies” video.
In an old interview with Tucker Carlson that has recently gone viral, Vance says that the country is being run by “childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives,” and goes on to cite Vice President Kamala Harris, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as examples. Setting aside for a moment the fact that Buttigieg actually does have kids and that Harris is stepmother to her husband Doug Emhoff’s two children, vice presidential candidate Vance seems to be saying here that women should only be granted power if they have given birth.
Aniston, who has had her womb more publicly scrutinized than possibly any other person in Hollywood, had a thing or two to say to that.

In an Instagram Stories post on July 24, the Friends actor wrote, “I truly can’t believe this is coming from a potential VP of the United States.” Under a screenshot from the viral video, Jennifer Aniston addressed J.D. Vance directly, continuing, “Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day. I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too.”
Vance and his wife, Usha, have three children, Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel, whom he often brings up in his public speeches. Aniston does not have children, which, according to the potential future vice president, should disqualify her from holding public office.
But you know what Aniston is absolutely qualified to do? Call out a man for judging women who don’t have kids.
