Not only is Nike rereleasing the oft-forgotten Hyperflight this year, but the brand is bringing back limited iterations of the hoops shoe, as evidenced by these images here.
One of the upcoming releases is a colorway linked to now-retired NBA point guard Jason Williams, specifically his days with the Sacramento Kings. The images of the upcoming retro show that it’s nearly identical to the pair Williams wore during the 2000-01 NBA season. It features a metallic purple upper and has Williams’ Kings jersey number embroidered on the tongue along with his “J Will” nickname on the heel.
The Nike Hyperflight was created by the famed designer Eric Avar and first released in 2001. The sneaker is best known for its futuristic design due to its molded one-piece upper. Nike did retro the Hyperflight in 2013, most notably the “Superhero” pack that featured colorways tied to various Nike Basketball athletes like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and others.
There are currently no firm release details for this “J Will” Hyperflight PE, but check back soon for official updates.
