Diddy’s ongoing federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial took a tense turn on Tuesday during a back-and-forth between Teny Geragos, a lawyer for the Bad Boy Records founder, and a former romantic partner identified only as Jane Doe.
The tense exchange in question broke out during a cross-examination conversation about a text conversation between Diddy and the unnamed woman.
In the texts, per Geragos, Doe was raising concerns over Diddy having spent “quality time” with another woman, per reporting from Complex’s Shawn Setaro, who has been in attendance for the trial. At one point, Doe’s alleged criticism of another woman was brought up, leading to Geragos pressing Doe about her mention of a Chanel bag.
In short, Geragos argued that Doe was upset about the bag itself, later leading to a similar mention of a Bottega Veneta bag.
Geragos pressed Doe to state how much such a bag would cost, to which she replied, “I’m sure you have one.” When Geragos again asked for the price of such a bag, Doe this time responded, “How much does my body cost?”
Jane then requested a break and brought the volatile exchange to a pause.
In prior testimony leading up to Tuesday, Doe, an anonymous former girlfriend of Diddy’s, described patterns of alleged abuse during their on-and-off relationship that lasted from 2021 to 2024.
Doe recently told the court she fainted after reading Cassie Ventura’s 2023 lawsuit against Diddy, saying it had a “harrowing resemblance” to her own experience.
“Felt like a nightmare,” she said. “I just reacted, like, ‘I can’t believe I’m reading my whole story.’”
Doe, who said that Diddy continues to pay her rent, also told the court she suffered repeated urinary tract and nipple infections because of what she called “hotel nights.” She claimed she felt a constant state of obligation to engage in sex acts with escorts at his request.
In one instance, Doe recalled promising Diddy a night where he could allegedly watch her with three other men.
She also recalled a violent altercation in June 2024 during which Diddy allegedly choked, punched, and forced her to perform oral sex on a male escort. The following day, she claims, Diddy sent her $12,000 to pay the escort and cover damages from the fight.
Elsewhere in the proceedings, she also told the jury she researched the term “cuckold” in 2022 to understand Diddy’s interest in watching her with other men.
Diddy has denied the allegations. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
