Luxury timepiece brand Jacob & Co. has developed a diamond-cut patent to make its new dial set shine.
To commemorate its 40th anniversary, the brand has unveiled the patented Angel Cut structure, which was developed in-house. The proprietary name derives from Angela, the wife of founder Jacob Arabo, to represent the couple’s union, enduring love, and inspiration.
The Angel Cut is composed of 37 facets, the number of years that the couple has been married.
The Angel Cut, which sees a full dial fastened blue alligator leather strap and diamond-set clasp, is making its debut as the first release in the Billionaire Double Tourbillon collection.
The timepiece radiates with 98 Angel Cut diamonds totaling 51.13 carats, along with a 18K white gold dial containing an uninterrupted JCAM50 hand-wound caliber.
“It took two full years of refinement to bring the Angel Cut to life,” Jacob Arabo, founder and chairman of Jacob & Co, said in a statement shared with Complex. “We were not interested in creating another variation on an existing theme. It had to be a true invention—something more versatile, more radiant, and more refined.
“The fact that the cut has 37 facets, coinciding with 37 years of marriage with my wife Angela, gave it an even deeper meaning for me personally,” Arabo continued. “For our 40th anniversary, we wanted to introduce something genuinely new, but also something with soul.”
