Ian Connor was quick to respond to a carousel of ASAP Bari-featuring fit pics Playboi Carti shared to his Opium Finsta on Tuesday. All three figures, of course, have been closely intertwined over the years, particularly earlier into Carti’s ascent. Bari, notably, was among those spotted at Carti’s post-MUSIC Rolling Loud set this past weekend.

In fact, the photos in question appear to have been taken around the same time as Carti’s Kai Cenat-featuring RL performance. Expectedly, the bulk of fans’ ensuing comments focused on pleas for a deluxe version of MUSIC and/or rumors of a swiftly released follow-up. Connor, however, took a different route.

“Opps Linking Up,” he said in a comment left on the Opium IG post. “MLK Died Fah This Type Of Shit.”

Also on Tuesday, Connor, this time on X, wrote, “N***as Will Link With Rats To Prove They Get Cheese.” While it wasn’t immediately apparent whether this was also intended as a commentary on the Carti and Bari photos, speculation would suggest it was indeed.

Connor’s own rise, particularly in the fashion space, has long been a subject of discussion among fans, as have the multiple rape allegations against him. The current status of his relationships with Bari and Carti isn’t clear.

As for the allegations against Bari, Carti directly addressed them mid-performance in 2017.

“I don’t support none of that rape shit,” Carti said at the time. “Fuck all that shit. That shit wack.”

When some in the crowd started a “Fuck Bari!” chant, Carti cut them off, adding “Nah, nah. Ain’t no ‘Fuck Bari.’ That’s my brother. But that n***a, he did wrong, bro.”

Carti himself was accused of aggravated assault in 2023, though his lawyer said in a statement to Complex at the time that the MUSIC artist had been “falsely accused.”
