Channing Tatum says he hates doing laundry so much that he spent a year buying new clothes just to avoid it.

In a new video for GQ published on Monday, the Blink Twice actor broke down his 10 daily essentials, including his dog Cutie, a deck of cards, a vintage Polaroid camera, and a picture of his 11-year-old daughter Everly, among other items.

Further into the clip, Tatum made an interesting revelation about just how much he hates doing laundry while talking about his love of classic, plain white t-shirts.

“I hate doing laundry. I hate it more than I can possibly say,” Tatum, 44, confessed at the 7:54 mark in the video linked above.

“I had one year that I called the ‘Year of the Fresh White Tee,’ and I don’t think I did laundry all year that year, and I just wore white t-shirts that I just bought,” he continued. “I’d be like, ‘I can get like two wears out of this a week. This is gonna be good.’”

In case you were wondering why he simply didn’t just hire someone to handle his laundry for him, Tatum said his “Year of the Fresh White Tee” happened between 1999 and 2000. A then-20-year-old Tatum was about six years shy of his breakthrough role in Step Up and another six years for Magic Mike after that.

Tatum didn’t provide any other explanations to his anti-laundry era such as where he left all those used white t-shirts piled up, whether he washed his other clothes, nor how much he might have saved on detergent and his water bill.
