When it comes to rarities, few are as coveted at the moment as the Takashi Murakami + MLB Sakura Elite Jersey whether a Cubs or Dodgers fan (or neither).

The jerseys, which recently popped up on the feeds of several famous faces including Travis Scott, Tom Brady and Steve Aoki, mark another layer to Takashi Murakami’s MLB Tokyo Series collection, meaning you can practically guarantee these too will be an in-demand must-have for fans. As expected, the jerseys boast the artist’s signature floral artwork, plus playfully incorporated motifs given an added boost by way of hand-stitched 3D silicone patches.

Notably, the jerseys also feature the same authentic components worn by actual MLB players when on the field. As for the level of rareness on hand here, we’ll put it this way: Less than 40 combined Dodgers and Cubs Sakura Elite jerseys were made, with roughly half being made available via the Fanatics App. Each jersey is individually numbered, with retail price set at $2,000. The available Dodgers jerseys are all Ohtani #17, and the Cubs jerseys feature “Tokyo 25” on the back.

As for how, exactly, to vie for a jersey, here’s the rundown: Starting at 1 pm. ET on March 13, U.S. fans can enter the product drop via the Fanatics App for a shot at scoring a jersey. When entering the drop, fans can select the jersey they want from what’s available and then proceed to checkout. However, you’ll only be charged if you are selected.

The drop window closes on March 17 at 12 p.m. ET, with notifications for selected participants rolling out later that day.

As previously reported, this month’s launch of the Takashi Murakami x MLB Tokyo Series collection was a runaway success, resulting in swift sellouts for all pieces dropped by Fanatics and Complex.
