Liam Gallagher is a big Clarks guy. Always has been, always will be. Whether it’s the Eurockéenes Festival in 2000 or Leeds Festival in 2017, he’s always got ’em on feet. So when the British shoe company began making plans for its massive 200th birthday (many happy returns!), of course, the Oasis frontman was on speed dial.
For a milestone as significant as this, you’d expect the duo to work on something more hyped up like the Desert Trek or the legendary Wallabee. But this is Liam Gallagher we’re talking about here. So, just like what he did for his earlier collaboration in 2022, he dove deep into the Clarks archives to bring back a silhouette that you’ve probably never heard of before: the Desert Rain.
“My favorite Clarks shoes are the ones that are on my feet, Desert Rain,” he said in a press release. “When I put on Clarks, like when I put these on, I feel proper.”
First introduced in the early 2000s, the Desert Rain is one for the OG Clarks fanboys. While it looks like a brand new model that’s been completely designed from the ground up, when you take a closer look, you’ll quickly realize that it steals a move or two from its more rugged cousin, the Desert Boot.
