Cobra Kai season six has well and truly left us hanging with the first installment of the series. After that cliffhanger finale, fans have mixed feelings about it all, with no sign of any type of closure for at least four months time when the next part of the series is set to be released.

The Netflix Karate Kid spin-off follows Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), and the next-gen fighters as they approach the looming Sekai Taikai international karate tournament.

So where did the season six finale leave off? Here’s everything to know about how Cobra Kai ends. Spoilers ahead.

How does Cobra Kai end?

Heading into Cobra Kai season six, Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) has gone and Johnny and his girlfriend are expecting a child together. Daniel, Johnny, and Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) are getting the Valley’s karate kids ready for the Sekai Taikai. Meanwhile, in the finale of season five, John Kreese (Martin Kove) is brought back into the mix, with him faking his death and escaping from prison.

The first part of season six focuses on Miyagi-Do preparations for the Sekai Taikai as the students battle it out for a place in the tournament. Ultimately, the competitors are named as Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Sam (Mary Mouser), Robby (Tanner Buchanan), Demetri (Gianni DeCenzo), Devon (Oona O’Brien), and Tory (Peyton List), with one of the dojo’s best fighters Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) notably absent from the lineup.

The finale of part one sees several one-on-one fights to establish team captains and competitors. Amidst this, Kreese make an appearance, telling Tory that she’ll “never belong” anywhere other than Cobra Kai. Though she dismisses him, we also later find out that Tory’s mother, who has been battling kidney disease, has died.
