On May 23, Justin Bieber made a surprise appearance during Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s Grand National Tour concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. SZA brought out the 31-year-old pop star for a remix of “Snooze,” cupping his face in her hands as the crowd went wild. Dressed in a black Balenciaga jacket, Justin returned the intimate gesture by kissing and holding her hand as the song went on.
Fans were clearly excited to see Justin take the stage for an extremely rare live performance, with many on social media praising SZA for this strong show of public support for the artist, who has been open about his struggles with mental health. Others, however, perceived the moment differently, speculating over the state of Justin’s marriage based on the clip.
“Hailey is punching the air after that hand kiss,” one user commented on a TikTok post about Justin’s Grand National Tour cameo, while another wrote, “Hailey is better then me 😭 idk how she does it 😂”
Of course, some fans came to the couples’ defense. “People can you just take a chill pill and be happy that Justin is on stage at last,” one fan wrote. “This might just prompt him to do his own show. Please stop with all the projecting and negativity about his marriage.”
Hailey Bieber was not, in fact, punching the air over that kiss. Instead, the 28-year-old mother of one spent the cheering on her husband from the audience at SoFi, ditching her usual heels in favor of cushiony Justin Bieber-coded slippers. Throughout the three-hour concert, Hailey was posting about the show on her Instagram stories, calling SZA and Justin “my 2 favorite artists.”
