In case you were unaware, the cool girls are all doing babushka-core this winter, and that includes Hailey Bieber. Instead of hats, we’re tying knit scarves around our heads to keep warm like grannies. (Babushka translates to “old woman or ”granny” in Russian.) You can wear a regular scarf over your head or, like Bieber, you can opt for a smaller, bandana-sized scarf designed specifically for the trendy, babushka-like look.

On January 29, Bieber was photographed in New York City with her gray headscarf worn over her ears and also around her neck. She paired the knit outerwear accessory with a matching gray crewneck cardigan, plus baggy khaki pants and a classic khaki trench coat. For footwear, the model opted for low-profile black loafers worn with white socks, naturally. Her black leather tote matched the shoes, and a diamond watch added just a touch of sparkle to the look.
