A recreation of Gillian Anderson’s iconic vulva gown will be showcased at Madame Tussauds in London.
The ivory couture dress was worn by the Sex Education star at the 82nd Golden Globes last January and was so memorable that it’s going to be worn by a wax version of the actress. Anderson appeared on the Monday (December 4) episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and discussed the famous dress.
“It’s a dress that Gabriella Hearst made for me to wear to the Golden Globes, and it has hundreds of vulvas,” the former X-Files star explained. “Do you know what vulvas are?”
“Yeah, it’s a very safe car,” Kimmel joked.
Anderson added that it took artisans “many hours” to apply the decorative vulvas onto the gown and shared that a second version of the dress was designed by the same group for Madame Tussands.
Anderson also shared that she has her own drink brand, cheekily named G-Spot, joking that viewers will have to look “hard enough” for it.
At last year’s Golden Globes, Anderson told Deadline that she was wearing the dress for “so many reasons,” and called it “brand-appropriate.”
In a separate British Vogue interview, the actress explained that since her drink brand has a mantra of “prioritize pleasure,” Hearst reflected this intention in the vulva-inspired gown.
