After first being introduced to Italy’s Stone Island in high school, Garrett Wilson is now starring in the envelope-pushing brand’s campaign in support of its monochromatic Ghost line.

“I’d see athletes and artists wearing it, and it had this distinct energy that made it stand out,” the New York Jets wide receiver said in an exclusive statement to Complex. “At the time, I couldn’t afford it, but once I got to college, I was finally able to buy a few pieces for myself. Fast forward ten years, and now I’m starring in a campaign for the brand. It’s a full-circle moment that still feels surreal.”

Wilson wore the 4100027 Alcantara Ghost jacket as part of Stone Island’s ongoing Community as a Form of Research project. Notably, this marks the company’s formal introduction of the Alcantara material, which is made in Italy. Soccer player Hidetoshi Nakata and actor Ethan Ruan are also featured in the larger campaign.

The products feature facets of the Stone Island experience that Wilson is particularly fond of, namely style, functionality, and innovation. Wilson also appreciates that the brand is able to “experiment with fabrics and dyeing techniques,” both of which help the label’s pieces continually raise the bar.

“I’ve been a fan for a while, so to be part of something that showcases their new pieces is special,” Wilson, who cited Stone Island’s Marina Reflective Jacket as a personal favorite from a past release, told Complex. “Seeing how much thought and craftsmanship goes into each piece firsthand gave me an even deeper appreciation for the brand.”
