Everything Caitlin Clark Has Said About Her WNBA Off-Season Plans

So, what are her basketball-related plans for the off-season? She won’t be joining an overseas team or taking part in Unrivaled, the Miami-based 3×3 league co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Glamour Women of the Year honoree Napheesa Collier, but it seems she has her sights set on playing for Team USA. The team has already qualified for the 2026 World Cup, scheduled for next September.

“There’s some USA Basketball stuff that is probably my top priority right now that I need to prepare for, and I think that will help me prepare for next season too,” she said during her Fever exit interview back in October, per Sports Illustrated. “But obviously, then you have to prepare for USA basketball in some manner, so there’s just a lot of different things you got to figure out and balance. And, you know, I’ll work through a lot of that too.”

According to The Athletic, Team USA will participate in a March qualifying tournament, which may be a part of Clark’s off-season plan. Either way, she’s said her first priority was healing and getting back into the swing of things.

“I need to be able to find some runs and some ways to play five-on-five just so I can kind of get that feel back,” she also said in her exit interview. “But more than anything, I think my main focus is really just getting my body healthy. Once we get back to five-on-five, like just being able to test my body and make sure I know it’s in a good spot where it’s going to be able to hold up with everything that, you know, we think we’ve corrected or we think we’ve worked on to be able to know I’m in a really good spot there.…So that’s probably going to be my main focus is, you know, just feeling 100% again and then obviously having that confidence in my body too.”

Luckily, it sounds like she’s getting there! Still, there’s always another avenue she could explore. Back in October, Indiana Fever player Ariel Powers chatted with Clark for her YouTube vlog, exposing one of her hidden talents: playing “DJ CC” for the rest of the team. “You love getting the AUX,” Powers told Clark, adding, “I’m not going to lie, she does a really good job.”

Clark agreed. “Maybe that’s what I’ll do in the offseason,” she joked. “I’ll become a DJ.”
