After appearing at last year’s Academy Awards with a pixie cut, Emma Stone has since grown out her hair into a ‘soft swing bob’ that’s perfect for spring. For the 2026 Oscars, Stone took home the award for coolest haircut, thanks to this one detail.

Stone, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film Bugonia, wore a Bridgerton-coded Louis Vuitton gown with a romantic hairstyle to match. Within a year, her pixie has grown into a shiny, healthy and bouncy long bob. Styled by Mara Roszak using GHD hair tools, Stone’s hair was blow-dried and curled slightly in different directions at the ends, creating a beautiful wave that gives it a soft swing.
“For the Oscars, I wanted a 90’s blowout with soft movement in Emma’s bob, keeping it feeling fresh, modern, and full,” Roszak said in a press release. “The look was polished but effortless—soft volume, subtle bend, natural volume and subtly brushed through.”
Her “soft auburn” hair color was done by colorist Tracey Cunningham, who created a custom blend using Schwarzkopf Professional’s Igora Vibrance demi-permanent color and Olaplex hair treatments No.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment and No. 1 Bond Multiplier. The result? A vibrant color with plenty of shine and health, giving her hairstyle even more radiance (in addition to her happy smile). Due to the curls, her long bob is slightly shortened so that it ends below her chin and falls softly.
