The undeniable importance of a good night’s rest is creatively underscored in Donald Glover’s debut Genius collection.
The Moncler x Gilga Farm collection, designed by the Atlanta creator and star, fittingly features a hero duvet jacket that doubles as a sleeping bag. Other highlights include a take on the Moncler Trailgrip Vela sandal, a heavy suede jacket in burnt orange, and a farmer-ified reimagining of Moncler’s Monduck mascot.
“Functionality is key — it’s something that connects the world of Gilga and Moncler, we both create for real-world usefulness,” Glover, who released what is believed to be the final Childish Gambino album last July, said in a statement shared with Complex. “The sleeping bag is one of the first products Moncler ever made, which inspired our sleeping bag jacket, but also led to a collection of summer fits grounded in real value.”
In October, Moncler Genius unveiled a new lineup of co-creators including Glover, ASAP Rocky, Willow, and more. Willow’s debut collection followed shortly after, with the Empathogen artist opting to incorporate handwritten lyrics from her 2023 song “Alone” into the design.
“I think the most important thing is energy,” Moncler chairman and CEO Remo Ruffini said last year of working on Genius with those who aren’t necessarily known as fashion designers, per a report from Complex Editor in Chief Aria Hughes at the time. “Different industries and different cultures give a strong energy to the brand.”
