If it seems like a notable swath of your Instagram feed is currently on vacation in the South of France, go ahead and add two more ritzy beachgoers to the tally: Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, who were spotted together at Saint-Tropez’s Pampelonne Beach over the weekend.
In a series of compellingly pastoral paparazzi shots framed by reedy beachgrass, the couple descended upon the sand on Saturday while flanked by an entourage of pals, assistants, and respective security details. They looked, in a Bieberian sense, like they were dressed for entirely different occasions: Jenner wore a flirty bandage mini dress, heeled sandals, and dark shades, while Chalamet seemed to channel a “blokecore Little Edie” in olive-green cargo shorts, Air Force 1s, and a retro Nigeria soccer jersey based on the team’s 1996 Olympics kit. (As some style aficionados may already know, Super Eagles merch—previously seen on Idris Elba—has already achieved menswear-grail status.) The actor accessorized, à la Grey Gardens, with a navy Nike cap peeking out from beneath a green paisley bandana, which he wore knotted under his chin.
“The Italian grandmother chic is sending me,” wrote one Timmy fan on X.

But it was whatever’s happening underneath Chalamet’s jutted kerchief that has people talking. Per the photos, a visible sliver by the nape of Timmy’s neck appeared to show a freshly buzzed hairline, which may or may not mean that the Oscar nominee lopped off his signature curls and/or is currently sporting a shaved head. According to People, Chalamet popped by Saint-Tropez to see Jenner this week en route to Prague, where production begins this month for the third film in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune franchise. While there’s no textual precedent of Paul Atreides having a buzzcut in Frank Herbert’s novel, Dune: Messiah, that doesn’t necessarily mean Chalamet’s Lisan al-Gaib can’t switch up his look. (That said, Villeneuve has mostly left the glabrousness to the Harkonnens thus far.)
Now, the real question is: In Dune 3, will Paul Atreides lead the Fremen while rocking a subtle broccoli cut with a low-taper fade?
