While we’re out in Paris this season, we decided to grade some of the biggest presentations. Kicking things off with Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton SS26 runway show, we’re taking a closer look at the set design, collection, accessories, and more.
Here’s Complex Style’s PFW report card for Louis Vuitton SS26.
Designed by Indian architect Bijoy Jain of Studio Mumbai, the set was made from a deep bronze that resembled terracotta. The show took place in front of the Centre Pompidou, which was designed by Richard Rogers, Su Rogers, Renzo Piano, and Gianfranco Franchini. The surroundings were warm and expansive. –Aria Hughes, Editor in Chief
Pharrell leaned into relaxed tailored clothing, pairing loose trousers with striped button-up shirts and flip flops. He brought structure to this line with leather jackets, blazers, and trench coats. While at times the pieces felt referential, the assortment felt more focused than past seasons. –Aria Hughes, Editor in Chief
Similar to Pharrell’s past collections, the bags were the main attraction. Gradient backpacks mimicked sun fading, Keepalls were covered in beautiful gems, and buttery soft Speedys were introduced in fun new takes like lavender ostrich. While less wearable, bags covered in animal prints inspired by ‘The Darjeeling Limited’ added a youthful touch. –Mike DeStefano, Senior Style Editor
The live choir and orchestra provide a lot of energy and add to the grandiose feel of the show, but they have become a bit formulaic.
While a Tyler and Doechii track produced by Pharrell sounds incredible on paper, it fell flat. Maybe we just hold P to such a high musical standard, but the soundtrack left a lot to be desired. –Mike DeStefano, Senior Style Editor
The LV show always brings out the best crowd in Paris. Hov and Beyonce pulling up solidified the high grade, but there were plenty of other amazing guests. From global NBA stars like Victor Wembanyama to legendary directors like Spike Lee, it was an A-list affair. –Mike DeStefano, Senior Style Editor
