Cate Blanchett is out here looking like a rock star right now. Attending the Armani Privé show in Paris on Tuesday, the Oscar-winning actor—who is 55—debuted a new, ultrashort bob as she waved to the crowds and photographers outside the Palais de Tokyo, where the show was held.

Blanchett has swapped her signature midlength lob for a jaw-grazing number, which sits a couple of inches above her shoulders and looks insouciant and cool. Chopped in by Blanchett’s longtime hairstylist (and colorist) Nicola Clarke, the bob was swept back and featured tousled waves. And what it lacked in length, it made up for in volume.
