In West Hollywood earlier this week, Callum Turner looked deeply Hollywood—and not just because he was at a screening of his Apple TV series, Masters of the Air, a breathless war epic full of Hollywood jawlines and Hollywood hair. Instead, he took his style cues from the ’90s heyday of Hollywood—George Clooney, Keanu Reeves, Denzel Washington—in the de facto uniform of LA’s mid school gen. Because rather than go full suit and glitz, Turner went for all-black, tucked in, and just close enough to the body. It’s signature Hollywood.

Up top, he wore a black tee. But not just any black tee. It’s a mid-heavyweight fabric. The collar is just substantial enough. And that’s before we get to the perfectly cut sleeves and relaxed fit. Down south, he chose a pair of straight-leg trousers which he wore over classic Chelsea boots—all in black, naturally.
The finishing flex? A Cartier Tank with a mock-croc leather strap and gold finish. A timepiece that’s favored by a century of very well-dressed guys—from Steve McQueen and Cary Grant to Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Mescal—Turner’s shooting his shot at joining the menswear big leagues, too. This is an eternally good watch.
This isn’t the only time he’s made us take note. Regularly spotted with girlfriend Dua Lipa, the pair have the art of couple dressing nailed down. Whether they’re strolling around Paris in matching leather outerwear or wearing formal ‘fits for the Time 100 Gala in NYC, they’re a Hollywood duo that always hit the mark—and Turner’s pared-back sense of style comes through every time.

It’s the ’90s cool-guy look at its finest. The guy who spends his life in theatre darks; the guy who unintentionally sets a thirst trap; the guy who looks Hollywood without dumbing it down in 24/7 yogawear or going too big in a muscle fit polo. And the best bit? Callum Turner, the British actor, is doing Hollywood better than the locals.
