Caitlin Clark has confirmed that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are in vacation mode.
In a new interview with USA Today, the WNBA superstar was asked if Swift and Kelce had plans to attend an Indiana Fever game this season. After all, Clark’s offseason included multiple Eras Tour concerts, which led to an appearance on the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast and, ultimately, a spot next to Swift at a Kansas City Chiefs game.
In fact, Clark’s invitation to the Chiefs game came in the form of a personalized note from Swift, per the point guard’s Time Athlete of the Year profile. In that note, Swift reportedly said “Trav and I” were excited to get to a Fever game once the pop star’s latest tour came to an end. Should we expect to see Swift and Kelce at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis any time soon?
“Oh gosh, I don’t know. I mean, I hope so,” Clark told USA Today. “I feel like they’re also living—they’re in a nice, in vacation mode right now. So I hope they enjoy a nice little break out of the spotlight. But I’m sure they’ll be cheering for the Fever either way.” So there you have it: a big old maybe!
Clark is certainly right that Swift and Kelce appear to be in vacation mode, with the couple staying out of the spotlight as opposed to attending the Met Gala earlier this month. While Swift recently previewed her Reputation (Taylor’s Version) take on “Look What You Made Me Do” in The Handmaid’s Tale, she hasn’t been spotted since her Mother’s Day outing with Kelce in Philadelphia on May 11. For his part, Kelce was recently seen working up a sweat in Miami.
But hey, attending a basketball game feels like a vacation activity, doesn’t it? Even if Swift and Kelce don»t make it to one of Clark’s games this year, Fever fans should still be keeping an eye out for some other big names like Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas, who attended one of last year’s games against the Connecticut Sun.
This year the team has extended courtside invites to major Hollywood A-listers. In a new CBS Sports TikTok video, Fever players Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell encouraged Michael B. Jordon to come out for a game, while DeWanna Bonner asked Serena Williams to “pull up on the Fever.” Meanwhile, Lexie Hull extended an invite to singer and notable basketball fan Noah Kahan.
Caitlin Clark’s own request, however, felt more like a promise: “Timotheé Chalamet, I think we’re gonna get him to a game,” she said in the video. “Timmy. He’ll be here.”
