Hard launches and soft launches are how we live our lives these days. People soft launch lovers, designers hard launch collections, and if you’re Barry Keoghan and Jacob Elordi, you hard launch your menswear broship with your on- and off-screen pal at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The Saltburn costars have asserted themselves as style mavens across numerous red carpet appearances: just earlier this week, Elordi stepped out in a banging Bottega Veneta suit; Keoghan, meanwhile, continues to surprise with his looks, like his recent shirtless Louis Vuitton sweater vest or a Zorro-esque Versace number.
This time out, the pair both turned up in a longtime menswear staple: the knitted polo. But these weren’t the loose-fitting, summery polos you might wear by the pool; these were of the autumn-appropriate variety, with long sleeves and a semi-snug fit.
The telepathy of their broship was evident: both opted for a banded waist, a slightly cropped length, and a couple of buttons left undone. That’s how you know it’s real.
To truly understand just how versatile and universally flattering the knit polo can be, you need to look at the full fits. Elordi’s tailored trousers and boots kept things looking smart, while Keoghan went full casual with ripped jeans with some slick Tyler, the Creator for Louis Vuitton sneakers. The knit polo is perfect for when you don’t need the full-on formal vibes of a tucked-in dress shirt, but a tee alone still doesn’t quite cut it. It works for every guy, no matter your build or personal style.
The best part about Barry Keoghan and Jacob Elordi’s menswear twin moment is that you can do it, too, with or without the fashion telepathy.
