It’s hard to believe, but awards season is officially upon us. Let the games begin, baby! Tonight, we’re kicking off the New Year with some major fits across the board; it only makes sense, given the robust list of nominees at the Golden Globes this evening. We’re holding space for everything from 1960s Timothée Chalamet in A Complete Unknown to futuristic, intergalactic Timothée Chalamet in Dune: Part Two—just those two performances alone encompass pretty much the whole of time and space. But they’re far from the whole story.
You probably don’t need to be reminded that 2024 was a gigantic year for entertainment. There was plenty of conflict (interpersonal, tennis court-based, and, um, lethal) in Challengers and Gladiator II. Films like Queer and Anora made most of our IRL relationships look pretty chill, actually. And Squid Game and The Bear proved that anxiety takes many forms. The stars of your favorite flicks of last year are here tonight—and I’m willing to bet some of your favorite fits of this year will be here, too. So, while Hollywood is honoring the best performances and productions, we’re honoring the best fits on the red carpet. Below are the guys who brought their A-game, whether in perfectly-tailored pieces or out-of-the-box looks. We may only be five days into January, but they’re already setting the tone for 2025’s awards season, and we’re here for it.
