Alex Moss sees Ken Carson’s upcoming More Chaos album as a “generational” entry in the Opium artist’s catalog, with the latest chapter of the 24-year-old Atlantan recently commemorated with a custom buckle from the always-in-demand jewelry designer. When answering a few questions about the piece for Complex, Moss, who has also made noteworthy pieces for Drake and Tyler, the Creator, gave fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at what he says was a three-month process from idea to execution.
“Every time Ken does a project, we create a unique piece of jewelry to coincide with the theme of the album,” Moss told Complex of the piece, which Carson gave a formal debut as part of the 2025 lineup for Rolling Loud California. “This album will be generational, and I stand by that. For this album, we wanted to create something unique and not typical. That’s how we fell on the idea of a belt buckle.”
The buckle brings the Isaac Garza-designed More Chaos logo to life with 14K white gold and VVS diamonds in white and black. While crafting the piece, Moss, who considers music a “big part” of his creative process, listened to Carson, of course, but also took inspiration from the sounds of Slayer and Alice In Chains. Moss and Carson have now known each for over half a decade, with Moss telling Complex that he considers the Opium signee like “another version” of himself.
“We have similar taste levels, ideas, and creative concepts,” Moss said, adding that their work together is “extremely organic,” with Carson himself intimately involved with every step of the process.
Below, get a (slightly) closer look at the custom buckle in action. More Chaos, the follow-up to 2023’s A Great Chaos, is set to arrive on Carson’s 25th birthday, i.e. April 11.
