Famed jeweler Alex Ross handcrafted a custom Tech Deck Dude chain for East Coast rapper Xaviersobased.
On Wednesday (March 25), Moss posted an Instagram carousel of the one-of-a-kind chain inspired by the vintage skateboard character, which was 3D-designed to replicate Xaviersobased. The jewelry, worth $220,000, is composed of white gold metal, seventy-seven carats of VVS white and black diamonds with red rubies and an oval curb link as the necklace.
According to press materials, the two first met at the Grilled Magazine pop-up for Yeat and later reconnected, to which Xavier proposed the idea of a Tech Dude-inspired piece. Moss has long been a go-to jeweler of the stars and counts Drake, ASAP Rocky, Playboi Carti and Ken Carson among clients.
Last year, Moss opened his flagship store in SoHo, with an event that was attended by Christian Combs, Tyshawn Jones, Sheck Wes, Don Toliver and more.
“This is like no other story you’ve ever seen, and the principle behind it is, it’s not just a jewelry store you’re coming into,” Moss said. “This is a whole experience when you come here. So the way that the store is designed, a little Easter egg, a little bit had to do with Alice in Wonderland. So it’s all types of different hidden rooms and they all have different themes and different vibes.”
