Casio has turned one of their statement digital timepieces into a watch ring.
The company has announced a miniature ring watch designed after the iconic A168 timepiece. With a six-digit display, three buttons and water-resistant quality, the silver CRW-002D-1A costs $135, while the gold version runs $155.
Although smaller, the ring watch functions like its original version and includes an auto calendar, 1/100-second stopwatch, with other signature features being a vibrant LED backlight and pulsing light that shines at the preset time or every start of the hour.
The CRW-002 carries full-metal construction, while the band’s matte finish provides a contrasting texture, and metal injection molding (MIM) technology replicates the detailed shapes of the case and band.
Shermeen Greenmun, Casio America’s Vice President of Timepiece, described the release as an extension of the original watch.
“The CRW-002 gives a new look to one of Casio’s most iconic timepieces, bringing the familiar design and functionality of the classic A168 into an entirely new form,” she said. “Through advanced miniaturization and thoughtful attention to the original design, we’ve created a unique accessory that pushes the boundaries of what a watch can be, while staying true to the details our consumers know and love.”
The CRW-002 goes on sale later this month at select retailers, the Casio website and the G-SHOCK Soho Store.
