Have you heard? The era of the teeny-weeny sunglasses is over. Big, bold shades are back. Everyone’s wearing Ray-Bans again, but Supergirl star Milly Alcock and her stylist Felicity Kay are taking things a step further by embracing the oversized look. (My theory? They’re leaning into the fact that Alcock is basically Sienna Miller’s doppelgänger, considering both are wearing their blonde hair in messy waves secured by giant frames.)
Regardless, Alcock is doing a great job of convincing me that I should invest in a bug-eyed pair myself. On June 22 she stepped out in New York City rocking Alaïa butterfly sunglasses. A few days prior, at a London event on June 19, she also wore a pair of Alexander McQueen sunglasses from the FW26 collection that aren’t on sale yet. (However, there is this similar pair from the brand.)
She has also stepped out to do some radio promos in her favorite Alaïas while embracing the red sandal trend. Red shoes are not just for Dorothy Gale cosplayers—they can add a whimsical pop of color to a plain outfit or balance out an already quirky ensemble.
It’s a great summer secret weapon, in part because bright red shoes instantly draws the eye downward. A style tip worth remember if you’re feeling nervous or self-conscious about wearing big sunglasses à la Milly. By the way, she’s wearing comfortable and affordable kitten heels made by Vivaia.
