An emphasis on reinvention is at the core of Sperry and Mifland’s first-ever collaboration together, out now.
“Sperry has defined a timeless approach to American style, and Mifland shares that same appreciation for authenticity and artistry,” Jonathan Frankel, president of Sperry’s North American operator ALDO Product Services, said of the newly launched collection in a statement shared with Complex. “Together, we have reinvented two of Sperry’s most beloved silhouettes through a fresh lens that honors heritage while introducing a bold new expression.”
The collection, available now, features the 3-Eye Mini Lug ($225) and the Billfish ($175), with the former standing as a reimagined take on Sperry’s ubiquitous boat shoes silhouette. Key design features include full-grain, vegetable-tanned vachetta leather on the 3-Eye Mini Lug and contrasting suede panels on the Billfish.
“For me, this collaboration was about creating something that feels lived in by the artist,” Tobi Egberongbe, founder of Mifland, said in a statement to Complex. “My thought was that shoes should remind you of the journey you’ve been on with them as you wear them. The Sperry silhouette already carries a legacy of movement and exploration, and we wanted to reinterpret that through the lens of Mifland’s craftsmanship, color, and storytelling.”
