Just days before the premiere of Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Apple TV is busily setting up its next comedic bestseller-turned-miniseries: The Husbands, based on the 2024 novel by game designer Holly Gramazio.
Developed by A24, the series takes a magical realism approach to the dating app-driven “thank u, next” dilemma: how do you know when the one you have is the one you want? And how many British hotties does it take to change a lightbulb?
With a cast full of lads lads lads, The Husbands looks like a charmer. Here’s everything we know:
What is The Husbands about?
Per a press release, “When Lauren returns home to her flat in London late one night, she is greeted at the door by her husband, Michael. There’s only one problem— she’s never seen this man before in her life. As Lauren tries to puzzle out how she could be married to someone she can’t remember meeting, Michael goes to the attic to change a lightbulb and abruptly disappears. In his place, a new husband emerges. Realizing that her attic is creating an infinite supply of husbands, Lauren confronts the question: If swapping lives is as easy as changing a lightbulb, how do you know you’ve taken the right path?”
Playwright Miriam Battye will be the lead writer on the scripts.
Who is in the cast?
Ted Lasso‘s Juno Temple stars as Lauren, with a bevy of British actors slated to play the various husbands: Joe Alwyn, Richard Gadd, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Joel Kinnaman, Daniel Ings, Bob Morley and Fehinti Balogun, per Deadline.
Non-husband actors in the project include Tom Basden, Joe Wilkinson, Gemma Whelan, Rebekah Murrell and Shazad Latif.
When does The Husbands start filming and come out?
