Taco Bell is stepping into an unexpected lane: skincare. The company recently revealed plans to release under-eye patches inspired by its cult-favorite beverage, Mountain Dew Baja Blast.
The announcement of the unusual product came during Taco Bell’s “Live Más LIVE: A Night at the Palladium” showcase in Hollywood on March 10, where the brand introduced more than 20 upcoming menu items and experimental concepts slated for 2026.
Alongside new food creations and beverages, the company unveiled Baja Blast-themed under-eye patches designed to energize tired skin. According to the brand, the patches contain caffeine and citrus ingredients designed to deliver cooling hydration and refresh the under-eye area.
The skincare reveal was one of several unconventional moments at the star-studded event, hosted by Vince Staples and featuring appearances by figures across music, sports, and entertainment.
Other celebrity guests included Doja Cat, Peso Pluma, Demi Lovato, and NFL star Davante Adams.
In a news release describing the new item, Taco Bell framed the skincare product as a nod to fans of its iconic drink. “For the Baja Blast die-hard, infused with caffeine and a refreshing boost of citrus, these patches energize skin and deliver cooling hydration,” the company said.
Additional details—including the full ingredient list and an official release date—have not yet been disclosed.
While the concept may sound unusual, Taco Bell is not the first food brand to experiment with beauty products. According to Salon, in recent years, companies such as Chipotle, Cheetos, and 7‑Eleven have launched cosmetics or collaborated with makeup brands on limited-edition products. These partnerships often lean on recognizable food colors, packaging, and nostalgia to create items that generate buzz across both industries.
The Baja Blast patches were only one part of Taco Bell’s broader 2026 innovation push. The company also previewed new menu items, experimental desserts, and beverage concepts.
