Anne Hathaway made a specific request about which models appeared in the final cut.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar for Anne Hathaway’s cover story published on March 25, Meryl Streep recalled attending Milan Fashion Week with the cast and being “struck” by the models’ slim frames.
“I was struck by how not only beautiful and young—everyone seems young to me—but alarmingly thin the models were,” said Streep. “I thought that all had been addressed years ago.” While the industry began including more mid- and plus-size models on the runway at the dawn of the body positivity movement in the early 2010s, many of the gains made in the name of body diversity have been lost in recent years.
According to Streep, “Annie clocked it too,” and the actor “made a beeline to the producers about it, securing promises that the models in the show that we were putting together for our film would not be so skeletal!”
“She’s a stand-up girl,” she said. The highest of compliments from Miranda Priestly Meryl Streep!

We sure do! In the trailer, which was released during the Grammys on February 1, 2026, Andy is the new features editor at Runway and Miranda is still EIC. However, Miranda’s memory has taken a hit and it’s a damn shame. Take a look:
Please tell me it’s some kind of cruel joke that Miranda does not remember Andy or Emily. Sure, she’s most likely had plenty of assistants walk through the door since 2006, but even a narcissist like Miranda wouldn’t forget those two. Alas, we will have to wait and see what’s going on, but for now, it’s just a delight to know we only have three months to go until the movie hits theaters.
