Kristen Stewart has long outgrown her Twilight years as an actor, but her style has evolved over the decades too. Her shy teen star persona has transformed into a savvy fashion insider, one that proves time and time again that she has a good sense of when it’s worth breaking the so-called “rules” and when it’s best to stick to the dress code.
And whether she’s wearing supercasual denim, rocking a bold no-pants look on the red carpet, or dressed in one of her now-signature elegant Chanel ensembles, Kristen Stewart seems to always put her own touch to every look. Case in point: Her outfit at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, which utilized one of the biggest trends this summer while still being distinctly K.Stew.
The Cannes Film Festival is known for its rather conservative dress code, which was tightened up even more this year. (Among other things, nudity is to be avoided “for reasons of decency.”) So Stewart definitely took a risk by wearing shorts on the red carpet, but it was worth it: The Chanel suit is not only very elegant, but modern as well.
Bermuda shorts may be back, but the way Stewart wears them has nothing to do with the surfer vibe the look normally conveys. The white satin shorts and blazer are so dressy, in fact, that we can even imagine them being worn to the office.
