These days, sneaker collaborations with major fashion houses are a dime a dozen—but only a handful of those linkups are actually worth your time. Adidas has launched a number of high-profile collections with brands like Prada, Gucci, and Balenciaga in recent years. Across the aisle, Nike has set the sneaker world ablaze with grails like the Dior Air Jordan 1 and Louis Vuitton Air Force 1s. Now, the puffy-soled running specialists at Hoka are joining those storied ranks thanks to a playful new partnership with Marni, the quirky Italian label led by designer Francesco Risso.

Marni and Hoka’s collaboration surrounds the latter’s B3LS silhouette, which debuted in 2024. Like many of the brand’s sneakers, it’s a maximalist runner with an enormous chunky sole and a gorpy lacelock. Marni’s take elevates it to a more fashion-friendly place, padding the shoe’s upper in polyester and rubber bubbles. It gives the kicks a hypermodern space-age feel, accentuated further by the four uniform colorways, which deck the shoes out in soft tones of red, blue, yellow, or brown from the laces to the soles.

Just when it felt like the designer world’s chunky sneaker wave was cresting, the Marni x Hoka B3LS’s puffed-up spin has breathed new life into big shoes. The shoes will launch via Marni on April 3 for $395, before hitting Hoka’s webstore a day later on April 4.
