During Milan Fashion Week, Marni hosted a star-studded runway show on Wednesday (February 26) for their Fall-Winter 2025 Vol. 2 collection titled “The Pink Sun.”
With music direction by Dev Hynes, Golden Globe winner Tracee Ellis Ross strutted the catwalk while Marni presented their full collection. The line is a “creative fusion” between Francesco Risso, Olaolu Slawn, and Soldier Boyfriend, per press materials.
Looks from the collection’s concept ‘The Salon’ appear to be straight from a high-end gallery, with pieces described as a “living canvas.” During the creation of Pink Sun, Risso, Shawn and Soldier, real name Leonard Iheagwam, held a month-long artist residency in a single studio, bringing their visions of satin dresses, deftly tailored suits and floor-sweeping garments to life.
“The Salon represents our unwavering dedication to craft, marrying the Marni we first glimpsed and the Marni we have since shaped, cherished, and reimagined,” the press release reads. “A continuous evolution, sculpted by the hands of many, designed to be treasured and preserved.”
The collection melds relationships between tactile material like furniture and sculpture, the pieces striking a “balance between wearability and fantasy.”
“It’s time for reflection,” Risso told Associated Press. “It’s time to preserve.”
Milan Fashion Week continues until March 3.
