Bottega Veneta and Kering have appointed Louise Trotter as the brand’s new creative director.

“I am deeply honored to join Bottega Veneta as Creative Director. The House’s storied legacy of artistry and innovation is truly inspiring, and I am excited to contribute to its future and celebrate its timeless vision,” Trotter said in a statement.

Trotter will join Bottega at the end of January 2025. She is leaving Carven as creative director for the new position and is taking over from Matthieu Blazy who was Bottega’s creative director for three years. Blazy is reportedly going to Chanel, per Business of Fashion.

“I am pleased to welcome Louise as our new Creative Director. Her aesthetic seamlessly combines exquisite design with sublime craft and her commitment to cultural advocacy aligns beautifully with our brand vision,” Bottega Veneta CEO, Leo Rongone said in a press release.

“Through her sophisticated lens, Bottega Veneta will continue to celebrate its heritage while preserving modern relevance. I also want to express my profound appreciation for Matthieu, who has been an extraordinary partner in infusing our brand with desirability, emotional resonance, and intellectual identity.”

In other fashion news, John Galliano and Maison Margiela have parted ways. Galliano shared the news on Instagram.

“Gratitude to my fashion family for this life-saving creative moment and the safe space we built together,” he said of being Margiela’s creative director for 10 years.
