With its landmark While You Were Sleeping collection—comprising six distinct shoe models from Nike, Converse, and Jordan Brand—A Ma Maniére all but cemented itself as one of the current era’s signature Swoosh collaborators. And perhaps the sickest shoe of the six was this ultra-clean spin on the Air Jordan 4, swaddled in soft tonal suedes and leathers.

If we’re being real here, this is the one. No shoe generated more hype, had a better campaign, or made more of an impression in 2024 than Anthony Edwards’ first signature sneaker with Adidas. It’s hard to recall the last time a signature shoe put the culture in a vice grip the way the AE1 did. The rollout? Note perfect. Those first few colorways? Again, perfect, from the debut peachy orange to the metallic All-Star Weekend joints. At their best, signature sneakers channel the allure and charisma of athletes without sacrificing performance innovation. In that sense, the AE1 is the signature game at its best. What’s more, it’s hard to remember the last time the most talked-about sneaker of the year has been readily available at Foot Locker and other easily accessible sneaker retailers.
