Welcome to Manchester, we do things differently here. The Adidas Manchester, to me, is one of the best City Series shoes of all time. And it might have just got even better, thanks to a collaboration with C.P. Company.
That phrase “and it might have gotten better” is often hyperbole by writers. But in this case, I believe it to be true. The Adidas Manchester first released in 2002, designed by Gary Aspden, to celebrate the UK city hosting the Commonwealth Games. The shoe was re-released in 2016 for Aspden’s Spezial line.
Aspden has done several other versions of the Manchester, too, and now he’s re-worked the shoe for an upcoming release for the Spezial line aside from five other shoes. The shoe looks similar to the original Manchester, except the upper has a nylon material, like what’s found on a C.P. Company jacket.
There’s also C.P. branding on the heel, alongside Manchester, and the C.P. Company logo on the left tongue.
The collaboration is great because the shoe in Manchester, and across the globe, is extremely popular with football supporters. And so is C.P. Company. It’s a true meeting of worlds.
The shoes are set to release for £130, but the release date is unknown. Expect this to be a hyped drop.
