Actress Olivia Munn bravely fought through breast cancer and has the mastectomy scars to prove it, which she bares in a new SKIMS campaign.

The Kim Kardashian-founded lingerie and loungewear tapped Munn as model for their new Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign, just months after the Magic Mike star was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy.
In April 2023, Luminal B breast cancer was discovered in both of Munn’s breasts following a routine mammogram. In addition to the double mastectomy, the actress had multiple surgeries, including a hysterectomy and Salpingo-oophorectomy to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes.

Supporting Munn through her recovery was her husband, actor-comedian John Mulaney and their son, Malcolm Hiệp, 2, while the couple also welcomed a daughter, Méi June, via surrogate in September.

As part of the SKIMS breast cancer awareness campaign, in partnership with organization Susan G. Komen, brand images show Munn wearing signature bras and shapewear. From Oct. 23 – 31, SKIMS will donate to Susan G. Komen® ten percent of the retail sales price from store and online sales on the brand’s official website.

“It’s an honor to partner with SKIMS and Susan G. Komen on this incredible campaign. This cause is deeply personal to me, and I’m proud to help drive awareness and conversation around it,” said Munn in press materials. “SKIMS’ commitment to empowerment and community aligns perfectly with the message of this campaign, which is all about confidence, comfort, and feeling your best self. That’s exactly how I felt shooting this.”

On Wednesday (October 23), Munn appeared on the TODAY, where she spoke about the “really scary” decision to show her mastectomy scars.

“I feel like this is something I’ve been hiding for a long time now, and it just feels like I can breath a little bit more,” she said around the 8:45-minute mark of the video below.

“Knowing there are so many women that have these same scars as me, I know that so many of them feel the same way I felt about them for so long. And I hope that they see the Skims campaign,” Munn continued. “Skims is so iconic and associated with beauty and sex appeal, and cancer really doesn’t have that same connotation. So I just really hope that other women who have gone through my same path feel a little better after seeing it.”
