We do a lot of vibes testing, but there are a few hard-and-fast things we look for in outdoor sofas.
Materials: Most important of all, especially if the sofa will be in direct sunlight or rain, are the materials. For the frame, teak and acacia wood are great options, as are aluminum and steel, or even plastic wicker.
Looks: Obviously, you want your outdoor space to look nice. We’d prefer something from a proper designer, even if that ups the price. On the other hand, it will live outside, so don’t spend a bundle on something you’re not ready to see age.
Price: Speaking of upping the price, cost usually correlates directly with looks. Still, even with our budget options, we tried to maintain a certain level of taste.
Ease of Use: Does it come with a waterproof cover? If you need to move the cushions, how heavy are they? Could you replace the covers?
