One of the most popular non-OG colorways of the Air Jordan 1 is reportedly returning to retailers soon.

According to early reports from Sole Savy, which was reshared by trusted leaker @zSneakerheadz on Instagram, the “Shattered Backboard” Air Jordan 1 High is coming back next year. According to the post, the rerelease coincides with the 10th anniversary of the original drop in 2015, as well as the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1 silhouette.

The “Shattered Backboard” Air Jordan 1 was designed in tribute to Michael Jordan shattering a backboard while dunking during a 1985 exhibition game played in Italy. The color scheme was inspired by the uniform worn by Jordan during the game, with a graphic on the insole honoring the backboard-shattering dunk. Jordan Brand has also gone on to release multiple versions of the colorway and most recently, the style appeared as a PE for Devin Booker’s Nike Book 1. It’s worth mentioning that the pair shown above is the original 2015 version.

Currently, release details and leaked images of the purported “Scattered Backboard” Air Jordan 1 retro have yet to be revealed. Check back soon for new developments in the coming months.
