If you’ve succumbed to overplucking at some point or you’ve experienced hair loss, the best eyebrow growth serums can help you get that fullness back—no painful microblading necessary. “Similar to eyelash serums, over-the-counter brow products can encourage longer, thicker eyebrow hair,” Dustin Portela, DO, a board-certified dermatologist in Idaho, tells Glamour.

To help you find the ones that actually deliver, Glamour editors put a variety of dermatologist-recommended serums to the test. Our team carefully evaluated ingredient lists, ease of use, and overall effectiveness. Below, find the best eyebrow growth serums—many of which can be used on lashes, too. (TL;DR: RevitaBrow continues to be our far-and-away favorite, delivering noticeable results within just a few weeks of consistent use, even for testers with sensitive skin.)

The best eyebrow growth serums, at a glance

How we tested eyebrow growth serums

We based our testing on dermatologist guidance. Serums containing hormones (like prostaglandin analogues) that promised to enhance brow fullness or length were used for a minimum of 12 weeks to properly gauge their impact. Peptide-focused formulas aimed at strengthening brow hairs and minimizing breakage followed the same testing period. Meanwhile, hormone-free serums designed primarily for conditioning and hydration were trialed over four weeks. Twelve testers applied each product as directed—once or twice daily—and assessed factors like ease of application, visible results, product longevity, and overall value. In addition to the brands in this story, we tested products from The Ordinary, Vegamour, Olaplex, and e.l.f., though they were not our reviewer’s ultimate top picks in the chosen categories.

How do eyebrow growth serums work exactly?

Over-the-counter brow growth serums really do work, but they need to be used consistently over many weeks to months, says Dr. Portela. The most effective option for regrowth is a prescription product called Latisse, but if a doctor’s visit is out of the question, OTC beauty products containing the right ingredients (plus a little bit of patience) will also do the trick.

Look for a prostaglandin or prostaglandin analog such as bimatoprost, which is found in the prescription-strength formula Latisse, or isopropyl cloprostenate, which is like what you’d find in GrandeLash, says Geeta Yadav, MD, a board-certified dermatologist and founder of Facet Dermatology. Both of these active ingredients encourage hair growth, but other notable ingredients in a formulation include peptides and amino acids to directly support brow growth and hyaluronic acid or vitamin E to hydrate and protect the skin, says Dr. Portela.

Best Overall: RevitaBrow Advanced Eyebrow Conditioner

  • What we love: Strengthens and conditions; suitable for sensitive skin
  • What could improve: May cause hair growth in unwanted spots; not pregnancy-safe

This brow enhancer takes the top spot on our list, as multiple experts we spoke to (including dermatologists, makeup artists, and beauty editors) raved about the formula’s effectiveness. “It contains a prostaglandin analog as well as saw palmetto and a biopeptin complex—two ingredients that help strengthen and condition hair follicles,” says Claire Wolinsky, MD, a board-certified dermatologist at Spring Street Dermatology in NYC. It’s a great pick for sensitive skin, too, since the brow gel is hypoallergenic and nonirritating. Plus, it’s vegan and cruelty-free.

The wand makes this serum super easy to apply, and it works pretty quickly. It definitely filled in spots where my brows were having a hard time growing on their own,” says Jordin Bjelland, a makeup artist from Montana. “I began to see results after about four weeks of daily use, but it felt like six weeks was the sweet spot.”

Our reviewer says: “I’m a big, big fan of RevitaBrow’s brow-growth serum (as well as its lash serum, which works miracles),” says Glamour commerce editor Malia Griggs. “I’ve used it for almost nine months now, and it’s done an amazing job thickening and softening the hairs. In the pictures above, you can visibly see (or I hope you can) that the hairs are more numerous. I’m not wearing any pencil or eyebrow gel in that ‘after’ picture! Even the woman who threads my brows every month has asked what I’m using because she’s seen the difference, too. Plus, one tube goes a long way—I’ve used the same tube for over four months now. But be careful where you apply the serum, as it’s quite powerful. I’ve noticed that the hairs outside my brow line grow a lot faster, too, so I wind up needing to thread them every three weeks instead of four.”

  • What we love: Moisturizing; strengthens hair follicles
  • What could improve: Have to be very precise in application because of its wand

Recommended by multiple dermatologists, this hero serum—available OTC from the makers of GrandeLash—contains the prostaglandin analog hormone for boosting hair growth. It also has hyaluronic acid to condition brow hairs, and L Proline, an amino acid that helps fortify hair follicles, says Claire Wolinsky, MD, a board-certified dermatologist at Spring Street Dermatology in NYC. Jenneane Rocha, an esthetician in Sacramento also recommends it. “After years of tweezing and waxing and getting older, my natural brows stopped growing, making it difficult to get a fuller shape. With daily use, this serum completely rehabbed my eyebrows, and now I recommend it to all of my clients,” she says.

Our reviewer says: “It wasn’t until the end of the pandemic when I realized my brows were a lot thinner than usual,” says Glamour commerce writer Alanna Martine Kilkeary. “I’ve never actually had an issue with brow sparseness (I have my Italian genetics to thank for that), but it seemed that they were a lot less full, so I decided to try a handful of remedies. I’ve always had good luck with the GrandeLash Serum, so I decided to give their brow version a try, and I was super impressed. After about two months of using it, my brows were thicker, more filled in and abundant. I would highly recommend this serum for anyone who wants an OTC option that’s affordable and really works!”

Best Budget: RapidBrow Eyebrow Enhancing Serum

  • What we love: Relatively inexpensive; results may be slow
  • What could improve: Some users say they experienced skin tint

This powerful eyebrow growth serum is more affordable than most and has a trio of proteins to strengthen follicles, peptides to encourage new growth, and conditioners that nourish hair. Users say it works quickly too. One of our testers, a victim of the ’90s thin-eyebrow trend, said she used the serum religiously for two months and saw massive growth that made her eyebrows look as dense as they once had been. “I had tried everything to no avail, but RapidBrow was a total game-changer,” she told Glamour.

Our reviewer says: “Having seen dramatic results with RapidLash eyelash serum, I had high hopes for RapidBrow,” says Glamour reviewer Missy Henrikson. “I applied RapidBrow twice daily—once in the morning and once at night. So far, progress has been slower. However, I’m optimistic that continued use will yield results, as it did with my lashes. For context, I have very thin eyebrows, particularly sparse at the tails, and typically fill them in with brow powder and set them with gel. In these photos, my eyebrows are in their natural state without makeup.”

  • What we love: Works quickly; vegan; helps shape the brows
  • What could improve: Expensive; not pregnancy-safe

Proteins, peptides, and hair-friendly vitamins? Check, check, and check. This brow-boosting serum is packed with ingredients that support fuller, healthier-looking brows—including biotin (vitamin B7) to help strengthen and stimulate growth, keratin to fortify existing hairs, and panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) and apple extract to condition and hydrate. Its unique applicator, shaped like a brow brush, makes it easy to sweep on precisely where you need it—no guesswork—so even first-timers can apply it with confidence. The brand promises visible results in 30 days, and our tester agrees: She noticed fuller brows in just two weeks.

Our reviewer says: “Another product that’s delivered—after a month of use, it helps me look like I’ve used an eyebrow pencil,” says Glamour commerce director Brie Schwartz. “You do have to keep with it (once I ran out and stopped using it, brow life went back to normal), but it totally works and it couldn’t be easier to apply—simply swipe all over the area, no precision needed. I also like that it works like a brow shaper, so it’s a great first step before filling in with a pencil.”
