BB cream stands for “beauty balm” or “blemish balm” cream, says Arshad. She explains that compared to CC creams, which are typically full coverage, BB creams provide more sheer coverage. In addition, CC creams may or may not have SPF, says Arshad.
BB creams also have a richer formula and are more hydrating in texture, making them ideal for dry skin, whereas CC creams are lighter in texture and have a matte finish, making them a solid choice for people with normal to oily skin as well as folks who are acne-prone, Arshad says.
