2. Preppy argyle

While fall was all about plaid, winter and spring will be defined by argyle. The pattern, long associated with preppy style, popped up on the spring runways at Versace, Burberry, and Vivienne Westwood—it’s not going anywhere. Go big with an argyle knit (which looks great with everything from wide jeans to work pants) or literally dip your toes into the trend with some half-off socks.
