If you’ve shopped for jeans in the last few years, you’ve probably encountered 3sixteen, the menswear-favorite denim brand with a following that no longer feels small enough to call cultish. 3sixteen has been making jeans in the US for the better part of two decades. What started as a single-silhouette effort has gradually become one of the most impressive denim programs on the planet, provenance be damned. Each silhouette is dialed to 11, and enhanced by the type of top-tier construction die-hard denimheads love to tout. In the nascent stages of the brand, the 3sixteen crew enlisted Okayama, Japan’s legendary Kuroki Mills to craft a proprietary denim for their usage, which is still prized among the denimscenti today.
3sixteen’s jeans aren’t cheap, but their value proposition is genuinely incredible; plenty of jeans triple their price won’t deliver the same level of quality. So it makes sense that they’re in high demand—like, really high demand—which means that the windows to buy them directly from 3sixteen itself are often finite and fleeting.
Which brings us back to our original point: right now, Huckberry boasts a full-size run of two of 3sixteen’s most beloved silhouettes: the Classic Straight, or CS-100, and the Classic Taper, or CT-101. The Classic Straight is higher-rise with a little room up top, a mostly straight leg, and an ever-so-slight taper by the hem; the Classic Taper has a similar top block, but tapers more significantly from the knee on down.
