Amazon’s entire lineup of gadgets is on sale right now, so whether you need a new Kindle e-reader, a new budget Fire TV, or an Echo speaker that can tell you the weather (spoiler alert: it’s fall, gray, and cloudy), this shopping event is your best chance to save until Black Friday. The Prime Big Deal Days event takes place October 8-9, but most of the deals on Amazon devices launched early.

Amazon Prime Day Amazon Device Deals FAQ

Are these the best deals that will happen all year?

We’re roughly a month and a half away from Black Friday, which many have come to know as the biggest shopping day of the year. That said, when it comes to buying Amazon-created products, you often can get great deals on Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, eero, AmazonBasics, Ring, Blink, and associated brands during Prime Day or Prime Big Deal Days. That said, there are also big savings on gadgets from competing brands like Apple, Google, and Meta—Apple’s signature AirPods line of products all reached record-low prices last Prime Day just before the new generation of products dropped. You can also find more than $200 discounts on premium appliances from Dyson, TVs from Samsung, Sony, and LG, and gaming laptops and peripherals from Logitech, Razer, Asus, and Acer.

Lastly, we should note that competing retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, and Target are all hosting anti-Prime Day counter-programming. So before checking out in Primeland, you may want to double-check the prices at some of the other big outlets.

In 2024, Prime Bid Deal Days will end at midnight PT on Wednesday, October 8. Some deals may linger, but if there’s a particular one that you’re eyeing, it’s better to snag it up.

Do I need a membership to shop Prime Day?

Yes. You may be able to find some “always-on” deals and miscellaneous discounts, but if you want to get in on all of the best Prime Day deals, invite-only deals, and perks, you’ll need a membership. Fortunately, new members can sign up for a free 30-day trial, so there’s technically no cost to try out a membership and then cancel after your Prime Day finds arrive. During the trial, you’ll have full access to all the perks of membership, including free two-day shipping (and one-day shipping in some areas), free returns, and access to Prime Video.
