Lili Reinhart got honest about her body image struggles as a way to help others feel seen.
“I wish there were more average sized arms represented in mainstream media for women. My body dysmorphia has been going crazy because I feel like my arms need to be half the size they are currently?” the actress, 27, wrote via X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday, September 14. “We’ve glamorized these skinny arms that, for most of us, can only be achieved if you’re a literal adolescent.”
Reinhart added that she “truly wonder[s] how anyone survives or gets through this life without having severe” body dysmorphia.
“Maybe it’s a cruel amplified version in combination with my OCD, but damn,” she continued. “The amount of time I’ve wasted thinking about my arms in the last few months is insane. I wanted to throw my own thoughts out there to let other women know they aren’t alone.”

Reinhart is known for using her platform as a way to address mental health issues — while offering support to anyone feeling the same way. After skyrocketing to fame for her portrayal as Betty Cooper on The CW’s Riverdale, Reinhart opened up about facing insecurities while filming a hit network show.
“Actually, not everyone on this show is perfectly chiseled,” she replied to a viewer on Twitter in February 2020 who claimed that Riverdale featured unrealistic bodies. “And even I feel intimidated by the physique of my surrounding cast mates sometimes when I have to do bra/underwear scenes.”
Reinhart further detailed her complicated thoughts about filming scenes that require her to strip down on screen.

“I’ve felt very insecure due to the expectation that people have for women on tv, what they should look like. But I have come to terms with my body and that I’m not the kind of person you would see walking on a runway during fashion week. I have bigger boobs, I have cellulite on my thighs/butt, and my stomach sticks out rather than curves in,” she added. “This is still something I struggle with on a daily basis. And it doesn’t help when I’m being compared to other women.”
In the lengthy message, Reinhart recalled gaining weight “due to depression,” adding, “I’ve felt very insecure about it. But I did a recent bra and underwear scene and felt it was my obligation to be strong and show confidence in myself, looking as I do. And I want other young women to see my body on tv and feel comfort in the fact that I’m not a size 0. And I’m not a perfect hourglass shape.”
As she’s adjusted to living life in the public eye, Reinhart has noted that her negative thoughts haven’t completely gone away
“My body has carried me through 25 years of life. All my scars, tears, trauma … I wish I could love it more, even when it doesn’t look like it did when I was 20. But I’m trying,” she wrote in a series of Instagram Story posts in January 2022. “I know my body deserves equal love and admiration at any size. To not feel at home in my own skin is a devastating feeling. As if my body has betrayed me by changing. I’ve looked in the mirror and pulled my skin back tight to see what I *should* look like. What I’m expected to look like … in an industry where you’re ~inconvenient~ when not a sample size.”

Earlier this year, Reinhart prepared to say goodbye to Riverdale after seven seasons, reflecting on the lessons she’s learned one month before the series finale aired on The CW.
“It’s been trippy to grow up on this show and constantly see images of myself from when I was 19, 20, 21. My body does not look like that anymore. And suddenly this season we’re 17 again,” she told Vulture in August, referring to the show’s fictional characters traveling back in time in the final season. “I’ve looked at myself in the mirror and laughed at myself a couple of times. I don’t look like I’m 17, and I’m OK with that!”

Reinhart concluded: “But it’s this weird feeling, like you have to fit yourself back into this box that you presented to the world when we first stepped into these characters. Just being an actor in general, you feel like you’re holding yourself to a consistent standard of I must not age, and I must continue to look like I did.”

Wynonna Judd gave a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, Naomi Judd, during her acceptance speech for the Country Champion Award at the 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards.
“So I graduated high school in 1982 and [in] 1983 got a record deal with RCA records and I got on a silver eagle bus with my mama and did her hair every night for 10 years for free,” Wynonna said on Thursday, September 28. “I started there, 10 years later she would have to retire and I would go on to make country music ‘herstory.’”
Wynonna then recalled the challenging moment she lost her mom in April 2022 to suicide.
“I went to her house, and she died there, but we followed the ambulance anyway to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. And I walked into the room and I held her in my arms and I kissed her on the forehead, shut her eyes and said, ‘I love you mom,’” she recalled. “And I walked out of that room, went home, got up the next morning and showed up at the Country Music Hall of Fame to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. You know why? Because that’s how much we love music regardless of what has happened to me and who I show up and I show out.”

The singer recalled how she and fellow country star Tim McGraw have both opened for one another on their respective tours over the years.
“Back in 1990, Tim McGraw opened for me, four weeks ago I opened for Tim,” she reflected. “The highs are high and the lows are low, baby, but don’t ever let them tell you who you are.”
Before becoming a successful solo artist, Wynonna got her start in country music thanks to her mother as they formed the duo The Judds together in 1983. The mother-daughter pair recorded six studio albums from 1984 to 1990 and continued to perform together until Naomi’s death.
“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness,” Wynonna and sister Ashley Judd wrote in a joint statement at the time. “We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”
Four months after Naomi’s passing, the autopsy report revealed that the late singer died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. In September 2022, Wynonna opened up about how she was coping with the loss of her mother and how it brought her closer to her sister, with whom she has had ups and downs.
“We both kind of look at each other like, ‘I’ve got you,’ right? And we look at each other and we say, ‘Yeah.’ We’re so united right now, I think more so than we have been in a long time,” Wynonna explained of her bond with Ashley, 55, following the loss of their mom in a segment with CBS Sunday Mornings.

Wynonna was the first recipient bestowed the honor at the newest country music awards show. The accolade was given to Wynonna for her musical achievements in addition to her charitable work with the Wounded Warrior Project and Habitat for Humanity while also advocating for mental health awareness.
“Wynonna is one of the most recognized and lauded performers in country music,” Senior Vice President of NBCUniversal Entertainment Cassandra Tryon said in a press release earlier this month, noting that the singer is also hosting the NBC country music holiday special, Christmas at the Opry, in December. “Not only is she incredibly talented, her selflessness and passion for putting the needs of others in the spotlight is unmatched. We can’t think of a better person to honor as our inaugural ‘Country Champion’ and to celebrate the holidays with across these two major country music events.”

The Irish actor, best known for his role as Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter film series, died at the age of 82 on Thursday, September 28. “We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon,” Gambon’s family said in a statement via his rep. “Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside.”
The statement noted that Gambon passed away after experiencing “a bout of pneumonia.” He is survived by his wife, Anne, and their son, Fergus.
Several celebrities took to social media following his death to pay tribute to the star. “We are incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Sir Michael Gambon,” the official Harry Potter Instagram account wrote alongside a black and white photo of Gambon. “He brought immeasurable joy to Harry Potter fans from all over the world with his humour, kindness and grace.
