Jacquemus’ partnership with Nike is still pretty fresh, but kicks like the Jacquemus x Nike J Force 1 ‘Earth’ have already made it one of the most unique collabs of the last few years. While this silhouette is definitely nothing new (having been introduced in ‘Triple Black,’ ‘Triple White,’ and even ‘Triple Orange’), this drop is weirder than ever in all the best possible ways.
Unlike the previous three colorways, this J Force 1 strays away from the usual monochromatic aesthetic in favor of something a little bigger and a little bolder. The ballistic mesh base is overlaid by panels of suede dipped in ‘Earth.’ The usual Swoosh logo has been replaced by a little ‘Metallic Gold’ one on the sidewalls, and this shiny shade features on the dubrae as well.
If you think the upper is a bit odd, it gets odder still underneath. Painted in contrasting yellow and white accents, the midsole is hand-woven with an intricate whipstitched technique. Inspired by the Parisian label’s love of traditional craft, it’s also a nod to the ACG Terra that debuted all the way back in 2007.
